Cage van hire

Light waste.
Loaded and gone.

A flexible alternative to skip hire for lighter clearances. The van arrives, you load it from the rear, and your waste leaves in the same visit.

Usually 30 minutes to load

Is this the right thing to order?

Often. Not always.

A cage van suits bulky, chunky waste cleared in one go. For some jobs another service does it better.

A cage van is right for

  • No space for a skip — or you don't want one left outside
  • Furniture, bulky household items and clear-outs
  • You can load it yourself, in the time allowed

Bag counts assume full 60-litre bin bags — about 10 to a cubic yard. Bulky items take more room than bags.

What goes in

What a cage van takes.

Bulky, lighter waste. Heavy material needs a skip or a grab; a few items never go in.

Access & siting

Ready for the van?

The van waits while you load it, then leaves with the waste. Check four things.

~30 minto load, usually
  • Somewhere for the van to stopAs close to the waste as it can safely park — on your drive or the road.
  • A clear path to the vanFrom the waste to the rear doors, with nothing to climb over.
  • The waste ready to goYou load it, usually within 30 minutes — have it gathered before the van arrives.
  • No permit neededThe van parks while you load and leaves with the waste — nothing stays on the road.

How it works

One visit. Nothing left behind.

Ideal when access is limited or you don't want a skip outside: everything happens in one scheduled visit.

  1. 1. The van arrives

The driver parks safely and opens the rear loading doors.

  2. 2. You load the waste

Usually within 30 minutes, subject to the booking confirmation and safe access.

  3. 3. Gone the same visit

The doors are secured and the van leaves with your waste.

Important: Waste Central does not load the van. The customer is responsible for loading all waste safely within the agreed time.

How it's priced

Priced by the load.

  1. Half or full

One price for the visit and the load you book — no hire period, nothing to collect later.

  2. No permit

Nothing is left on the road, so there is no skip permit to pay for.

  3. Declared items

Bulky items that carry a charge are declared when you book and priced before you pay.

Questions

Cage vans, answered.

Do I need to be there?

Yes — you load the van, so you or someone working with you needs to be there when it arrives.

How long do I get to load?

Usually up to 30 minutes, subject to the booking confirmation and safe access. Have the waste gathered before the van arrives.

Does it need a permit on the road?

No. The van parks while you load and leaves with the waste, so nothing is left on the road.

Can I put soil or rubble in?

No — heavy material needs a skip or a grab lorry. A cage van is for bulky, lighter waste.

Ready to clear your waste?

Choose a half or full load and continue to booking.
